SAT is a standardized paper-based test that is an admissions requirement for most undergraduate programs of colleges in US. It is administered by the College Board and assesses high school learning and college preparedness of the student. As it is an international examination, SAT test preparation classes are recommended to students for securing better results. SAT has the following components: Reading test, Writing and Language test, Math and Essay (optional). The exam is scored on a scale of 400 to 1600. What is the cost of SAT exam?

The registration fee for Indian students taking SAT® is $113.5 ($96.5 plus $17 with essay).

How many times in a year is the SAT® exam held?

SAT will be conducted 4 times a year. They are offered in October, December, March and May.

Does admission to universities depend only on SAT® scores?

It is one of the various criteria that the admission council looks at. However, a good SAT® score does improve your chances of getting admission and financial aid.

How do I register for the SAT®?

How many times can I take the SAT®?

SAT can be taken an unlimited number of times. (It is highly advisable not to appear for SAT® too many times as it may affect the applicant’s candidature).

What is the validity of the SAT® exam?

Your SAT® score will be valid for 5 years from the date the test was taken.

Do I need to have the SAT® score at the time of applying to universities?

You should be ready with your SAT scores at the time of applying to universities. The College Board also says that sending scores very early shows colleges that you are a very interested applicant.

Is essay required in the SAT?

Should I take the SAT or the ACT?

A lot of students take both the exams and send the best score to the universities. In fact, for students targeting the Top 10-15 universities in the US, this is a highly recommended strategy. If you do not want to take both the exams, then the scientific approach will be to take an SAT diagnostic test and an ACT diagnostic test, and pick the one in which you performed better.

It varies from student to student. In our experience, it takes anywhere from 2 months to 6 months to prepare for the SAT exam.

My English/Math is very poor. Will I get a decent score?

The SAT exam does not test your theoretical knowledge of Math or English or Grammar. It tests your reasoning ability. Jamboree does not teach you complicated math formulae or complex grammar rules; we teach strategies that help students solve the questions with maximum speed and accuracy. So, if you follow the advice of your trainers, there is no reason why you will not get a good score.

Will I get any help with university selection and applications?

Jamboree has Admissions Counselling services that can cater to all your university selection and application requirements.

What if I miss a class?

We have simultaneous batches running in the centers. You can attend your missed class in some other batch. Speak to the Center Manager to schedule it.

What if I want to repeat some of the classes?

Within your validity period, you can repeat your classes as many times as you want to. Please speak to the Center Manager so that he/she can schedule your repeat classes.

Will I need to buy any books?

The study material and tests provided by Jamboree will be more than enough.

Can I shift from SAT Classroom to SAT Live Classes or vice versa?

Yes, you can. Mail us at jamboreeindia@jamboreeindia.com to switch between program types and we would communicate to you the terms and conditions, if applicable.

Can I shift to any other city?

Once you start your classes, we highly recommend you to complete your classes with the same faculty. We also believe that your movement within the same city should not be unmanageable. So, to safeguard you best interests, transfers between centers within the same city are not allowed.

In our experience, students’ retention levels go drastically down after 3 hours. So, each session will be for a maximum of 3 hours; the recommended duration is 2 hours.

The classes will be during our office hours. The schedule of the classes will be made in advance in discussion with you and the faculty.

Can the faculty come to my home to teach me?

The classes will be conducted only in Jamboree’s premises. You will need to come to the center for your classes.
